How to stop dhcp client over-writing resolv.conf

Finally I found out how to do it

Edit the /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf file
Find the line that says request

Comment out the line that requests for domain-name, domain-name-servers and host-name

request subnet-mask, broadcast-address, time-offset, routers,
# domain-name, domain-name-servers, host-name,
netbios-name-servers, netbios-scope;
